![]() ![]() People say they hate this Superman because "he is too dark". It has been proven over and over again, that in our society, we hate what we don't understand. "People hate what they don't understand". It all goes back to what Martha Kent said in the film. We would hate him, because he isn't one of us. In reality (a post 9/11 world), we as a society would be afraid. What if an alien crashed on our planet and lived among us for 35 years and we didn't know? Then out of nowhere, he comes out of the shadows in the midst of an alien invasion, that would have wiped out our very existence. But for some reason, many people do not love this version. Zack created a new and realistic version of the Boy Scout everyone knows and loves. And then it isn't until Clark's sacrifice that Bruce realizes that men are still good. He realized at that moment, he became the person who killed his parents. Bruce remembers the last word his father said under his dying breath, "Martha". After Clark calls out his mother's name, it takes Bruce back to when he had lost his. The purpose of the "Martha" scene is to show how Bruce realizes that Superman is just as human as he is. And yes, I am talking about the Martha scene. The light that opened the tunnel that would put Bruce Wayne back together again. It isn't until the man he swore he hated, is the very person who would bring light into his darkness. He's lost friends and family and his life is nothing but destruction and pain. Throughout the course of the film, Lex Luthor pins the two caped heroes against one another in a psychotic, destructive, and extremely clever way. Zack Snyder made a broken Batman inspired by The Dark Knight Returns, where Batman lost his way and became the thing he swore he wouldn't become. It connects the events of Man of Steel to drive the story and shows what shattered already broken Bruce Wayne, into pieces. Batman v Superman has the BEST opening sequence to a film I have ever seen. In this review, I'm going to explain why I LOVE this film. Batman v Superman is probably the most controversial and ambitious CBM in history. ![]()
